Some birdie pictures...out my window, and otherwise.

It's not often I can get Angel to pose. This moment of calm and stillness didn't last long. This birdie can fly. (or flutter to a better spot, with ease)
I tried to get Angel to sit still for a few shots but nope... good ol' Sonny though, she (or he?) was great. Sonny seems very calmed by her own reflection. Very neat to see the change in her when she can see herself. What a beauty!
Sonny on the playgym...need to give them both more time on this. Time outside of the cage, change of scenery....do birds like that? The books seem to think so...hmmm
My birds favor this back corner spot in their cage. It's just like the opposite corner (clear, same type of perch) only, it's further away (I'm guessing, from me). Awwwwww. It's good for them to have a safe spot though. At least, one they feel is safe. (It's not like I can't reach them) :)
Two beautiful swans... They probably like to peck at the feet of those gawking at them. There was a tight linked fence along the bottom of the railing where we were standing. Bet that would hurt. These guys are really big up close.
Why birds? Well, they're beautiful for one thing. My love of birds has evolved over time.
It started out as a temporary, safe, no-commitment transition from losing a pet, and not feeling ready to have another, to a long-term bird watching & bird feeding habit.
It's addicting. It's also work, and expense. But it's worth it to see some of these wild birds in my backyard (and anywhere else I can spot them). They're "company" and I enjoy their presence, their freedom, and their beauty.
Loving wild birds has led me to wanting a bird (or two) as a pet so now I also have pet parakeets.
They're the easiest to photograph since they're right here :) (and so cute) so they'll likely be featured here the most.
