What's that saying? A bird in the hand....(and what a beauty)

Hello beautiful! He or she might've been on my shoulder... not sure now. Somewhere very close in any case.

If only he didn't look away... cardinals usually visit my feeder during storms...they're not too put off by the weather. (at least sometimes)

Have to be very patient and very subtle to hold a camera inches from a bird... if they're hungry enough, they might stick around a second...like this one.

At work (while on break) I saw what looked like a Cooper's Hawk. Really stunning. No camera of course. (argh). This pretty birdie (not sure what kind) is another from the Parrot Refuge in NL.

From last spring...a juvenile cardinal..had a bunch of them around at the time.. really neat! They're not as skittish as their (wiser) parents...
